The Abyssinian cat is a striking and playful breed known for its unique 'ticked' coat, in which individual hairs are banded with different colours.  They have a lively personality. Typically, Abyssinians weigh between 8 to 12 pounds (3.6 to 5.4 kg) and stand about to 10 inches (20 to 25 cm) tall at the shoulder. Their slender necks measure around 8 to 10 inches (20 to 25 cm), adding to their elegant appearance.
